John Freedman MD MBA, an accomplished health care leader, serves as CEO of Freedman HealthCare LLC. With decades of experience in performance measurement, care delivery, health policy and health care reform, he has led Freedman HealthCare to become a premier consulting firm in health care reform, health data analysis and policy development. Over 30 states have engaged FHC to develop all-payer claims databases, support health insurance exchanges, assess market functioning, provide detailed analytics, and support health care transformation.
Before founding Freedman HealthCare in 2006, Dr. Freedman held leadership roles at multiple innovative health care firms. He served as the Medical Director for Quality at Kaiser Permanente in Colorado and as Medical Director for Specialty Services at one of the Northeast's largest community health centers. While leading quality and medical management at Tufts Health Plan, he helped them climb to a #2 national NCQA quality ranking. Dr. Freedman has also served on the boards of Massachusetts Health Quality Partners, Network Health (300,000 member Medicaid health plan), and the Fishing Partnership Support Services (which improves health and safety in the fishing community).
Dr. Freedman graduated from Harvard College, the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and the University of Louisville School of Business.
